Here we come with yet another healthy mini snack to soothe your taste buds and keep your health quotient intact. Avocado & hummus quesadilla – a breezy snack to make your snack time healthy and fun. And after all, who says no to a quesadilla?

The additional benefit this recipe has is, all the ingredients are readily available and it just takes 15 minutes to prepare it.

The hero ingredient of the recipe here is avocado. Avocado is a nutrient dense superfood and it provides a substantial number of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients with relatively few calories. The avocado is the only food that has heart-healthy monosaturated fat known as the good fat. It has natural sodium, natural sugar and is cholesterol free.

  • 2 large tortillas
  • 1 sliced avocado (You can use a cookie cutter or glass to slice it)
  • 2 – 3 tablespoon hummus
  • Cheese sprinkles
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ¼ tablespoon minced cilantro


Firstly, we will take some good hummus, I preferred taking pepper hummus so that it gives a nice flavor.

Then pick out some cilantro and cumin and mix the three altogether and then set it aside.

As next step, you need to pick the tortillas and sliced avocado.

Spread the hummus on tortillas as much you like and put avocado on the half side of a tortilla.

Now is the time to spread cheese on the same half and then fold it.

You can also add other veggies like capsicum or corn to it if you like too.

Take your quesadillas to the stove now and put them in a skillet so that the tortillas are crispy and golden brown on the outside.

Sprinkle olive oil on it to make your tortillas crisp.

Flip it to the other side and make sure it gets cooked evenly from both the side.

Once crisp and golden brown from both the sides, you will know it’s ready and you can take it off from the oven and plate it.

You can also cook this recipe in advance and have it later. Don’t be scared of it getting soggy as you just need to heat it in oven/toaster and it will taste equally yummy and have a nice crisp to it.
