In this unfortunate time, when the whole world is suffering from Covid-19 pandemic. The only thing that can protect people from this deadly virus is to have a strong immune system.
There will be times when going out won’t be unavoidable and it can be long enough to get completely rid of Covid-19. So, let’s work our ways best to fight it by following the steps given below and making out immune system ready for it
1. General measures
Drink warm water
It is very important to stay hydrated always as water removes all the toxins from your body as and when needed. Whereas, warm water keeps the sore throat problems away. You can also make a regular habit of having a fresh fruit juice or coconut water to keep the hydration quotient of the body intact.
Exercise Regularly
Exercising regularly is a good habit that everyone must adopt in their lives. It is even advised by experts to do meditation, Yogasana and Pranayama for at least 30 minutes a day.
Eat immunity boosting foods and vitamins
Include immunity-boosting foods and vitamins in your diet like green vegetables, broccoli, tomatoes and citrus foods.
2. Adopting the ayurvedic way
Drink herbal tea/ Kadha
You can try kadha pack from Ayush Ministry or can try from other brands like Dabur. You can also prepare it at home by using home spices such as Cinnamon (Dalchinni), Tusli, Black pepper (Kali Mirch), Shunthi (Dry Ginger) and Raisins (Munakka). You can also add jaggery/ honey or lemon juice to add some taste to it.
Adding spices to cooking
It is recommended to add Turmeric (Haldi), Coriander (Dhaniya), Cumin (Jeera) and garlic (Lahsun).
Eat Chyawanprash
Take 1 tbsp chyawanprash daily as it is also recommended by Ayush Ministry
Golden Milk
Drink golden milk at least once a day. Add a half teaspoon to hot milk and make it a habit to drink it daily.
Oil Therapy
Take 1 tbsp of sesame or coconut oil in the mouth. Do not drink it. Swoosh it inside your mouth for 2 – 3 minutes and spit it out. After that follow the same with warm water. Do it at least twice a day.
Application on nostrils
Take some sesame oil or coconut or ghee and apply it to your nasal passage in morning and evening
3. Must have foods
Though there is still no supplement as such proven to combat COVID -19 virus we definitely can prevent ourselves from it by keeping ourselves healthy and boosting our immunity naturally. It is said that below-listed foods are rich in vitamins and essential nutrients that help boost immunity naturally.
Garlic
Found in every cuisine, adds zing to your food and is a must-have for your health
Broccoli
Supercharged with Vitamins A, C and E, minerals and many other antioxidants, it is a perfect food to complete your health quotient
Spinach
Rich in Vitamin C, full of antioxidants and one of the healthiest food you can add to your diet
Almonds
Rich in Vitamin E, good to fight cold, This antioxidant is a powerful ingredient to healthy you. Not only almonds, make it a practice to add nuts/ dry fruits to your daily diet.
Sunflower seeds
Has Vitamin B-6, Vitamin E and is full of nutrients like magnesium and phosphorus. It helps in maintaining the immune system function properly
Citrus fruits
Rich in Vitamin C is known to boost your immunity naturally. Some of the citrus fruits are orange, lemon, grapefruit and pineapple
